  29. At this moment there is a temp fix in WEBspinner with the CUT/COPY/PASTE.
  30. This is saving to a buffer in RAM dues to some file reading problems that
  31. I just can't find. Sometimes an error message appears...I don't know why..
  32. but it still works. I'm still working on this problem.

  40. PLEASE be as specific as possible...is the bug reproducable. What system are
  41. you running under..TOS..what version?  MagiC/geneva?
  42. What machine are you running on....screen resolution.

  44. Have you tried it on a bare system...that is NO auto prgs and ACCS.

  46. What other prgs did you have running at the time...all these things help.
  47. Bug reports of...it crashes ...doesn't help, when, where, and how.

  49. If you get an error message...what does it say? It all helps find the bug
  50. in the 1000's of lines of code.

  104. A lot of time has been put into Beta testing WEBspinner, however it's possible
  105. that bugs have slipped through. If you find something please let me know and
  106. I will endevour to sort it out as soon as possible....bug fixes usually take 
  107. about a week.

  110. System requirements
  111. -------------------

  113. WEBspinner runs best on a Falcon in 16 colours or more. However it will run
  114. on any Atari. If 16 colours are not availiable, then certain colour pickers
  115. will not be visable. On an ST please try ST LOW res...it's not great but it 
  116. should work.

  118. If there is enough call for it i will try and produce an ST Medium Res version.

  120. SET UP......basic version here or load the MANUAL.HTM in CAB

  122. Even the simplest things need setting up.
  123.  
  124. 1) Put the prg, the rsc file and inf file in a folder together. 
  125. 2) Create a workfolder and inside that an image folder...
  126.

  129. A:\workfold\
  130. A:\workfold\images\

  132. Call them what you want but they are the folders that WEBspinner will save 
  133. to and move graphics files to.

  135. 3) Start the prg....if you don't have a key press NO KEY and carry on. Don't try 
  136. and register...mistakes can be fatal and will probably crash your system.
  137. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...it's called piracy and I don't like it.

  139. 4) When you arrive at the desktop, go to the MISC menu and select paths.
  140.  
  141. Now use the file selector to select those folders you chose.

  143. Then it's time to play :-)

  147. If you have not registered, some features are disabled...basically you can't
  148. save and no backup is created...I'm sorry it has to be this way but I sent out 
  149. fully working versions of Rotator and lost a lot of registrations through it.

  153. As far as I know, images should still be moved to your workfolder.

  155. 5) WEBspinner supports drag and drop so can be started from CAB if it is the 
  156. viewer.
  157. You can also drop files on it from the desktop.

  159. BE WARNED...it doesn't like WEB pages written on some non Atari machines...
  160. It'll all go on the top line :-(

  162. 6) Now select the various things you want in your page and see the code 
  163. generated.

  183. 2)Load..Load an HTML (note...webspinner does not like some HTML's written on
  184.   PC's  (just call it fussy). Also you may get an info box saying "This
  185.   document does not conform to WEBspinner standards". Background info should
  186.   NOT be set if this appears.

  188. 3)Load previous... Loads the last saved version of the document you are
  189. working on

  191. 4)Save..saves the current document
  192. 5)Save as...saves document under a new name
  193.  
  194. 6)Import text...imports text in ascii format for inclusion in the document.

  196. 7)delete file...deletes a file from disk...be carefull.

  206. 3) Paste...Usual cut/copy/paste functions. All cut and copy is via the 
  207. clipboard so please ensure you have set the right path.

  209. 4)Headings...Enter the heading text...select alignment and text size and 
  210. click on OK to insert heading into the document.

  212. 5)Linebreak...insert a HTML code line break into the document.
  213.  
  214. 6)Word Attributes...Allows Bold/Italic/underline/centred attributes to be 
  215. added to the text between the left and right cursor markers.
  216. More than one attribute can be added at a time.

  218. 7)Paragraph attributes...Adds attributes to a whole paragraph of text.

  220. 8)Monospaced font...chnages the font in the HTML document to monospaced.

  222. 9) Undo...undoes the last change.

  226. 1) Page Title...sets the HTML page title in the document (see *)

  228. 2) Background..sets the various text colours and background colours in the 
  229. document. Colours may be added manually or selected using the colour
  230. picker (only works well with 16 colours). (see *)

  232. With the background image option, select the image you wish to use as a background
  233. and it will be moved to your image folder.

  235. * Note. These ettributes are put on specific lines in the document. If the
  236. document does not conform to WEBspinner attributes it is best NOT to use them.

  238. 3) Lists....select either bulleted or numbered lists and add the text you
  239. wish to include in the list.

  241. 4) Tables...select the attributes for the table bottom right.
  242.    Press a button to select the attributes for the individual cells of the table 
  243.    top right. Images, colours, text etc can be added. If an image is added to 
  244.    a text cell the text becomes the Alternate text should the image not be
  245.    displayed.

  247. 5) Anchors...Either enter the name of the anchor or choose from one of the links
  248. you have already added by selecting the appropriate button.

  250. 6) Internal Links...Similar to anchors. Make a new link or select an already
  251. unused anchor.

  253. 7) External Links...Enter the URL of the Link or select another document to link
  254. to. It will be moved to you workfolder if you want.

  259. 1) Lines...Choose the various line attributes and insert it into the document.

  261. 2) Images...Place an individual image in the document with various attributes.

  268. 2) Open toolbox...brings the toolbox back on screen.

  270. 3) Open display window..reopens your workwindow if you have shut it for some reasoon.

  298. Very few new features will be added to this version of WEBspinner to give the 
  299. manual writer time to catch up.

  302. be released as soon as this basic version has gone out for general 
  303. distribution.

  312. I have turned down a very nice PC project to finish WEBspinner...the PC 
  313. project was a cash/hour, WEBspinner is a cash maybe. However, I like the 
  314. Atari and wish to see it continue and so hope to write much more software
  315. for it.

  330. As any shareware author will tell you, it's not the money, but the encouragement
  331. that makes us go on...the money helps in a big way though. However due to the
  332. small size of the Atari community you need a lot of registrations to get any
  333. pay back on 1000 hours coding....it's a slow buisness :-(
